Ohanaeze Ndigbo: Police launch investigation into attack on Obiozor’s home in Imo
Imo Commissioner of Police, CP Rabiu Hussaini has ordered a full-scale investigation into the razing of the country home of the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Prof George Obiozor, at Awo-Omanma in the Oru East Local Government Area of the state.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Micheal Abattam, who confirmed the incident on Saturday, noted that the incident is under serious investigation.
He said the Command received the news of the unfortunate incident. Also, the Imo State Police Commissioner, CP has ordered a full-scale investigation on it and we are on their trail.
The police spokesman assured that the police would fish out those who carried out the arson.
The attack on the Ohanaeze scribe took place at about 12.30 am on Saturday morning, after the gunmen chased away a security guard on duty in the compound.
A community source who pleaded anonymity said before now the entire Ubachima community in Awo- Omanma has been on the run.
The source who accused members of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) of the attack said all top politicians in support of Gov Hope Uzodinma’s government no longer visit home.
He said unknown gunmen razed our brother’s house around 12:30am.
