Okorocha enters race for 2023 Presidency
Senator representing Imo West district in the current 9th National Assembly, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, has formally declared his intention to contest the 2023 Presidential election.
Okorocha made the announcement in an official letter addressed to President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, and read out before commencement of Wednesday’s plenary at the Red Chamber in Abuja, Wednesday.
The senator will contest the presidential election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The former governor of Imo, in the letter, also said he will address a world press conference, Monday, January 31 to officially declare his ambition to contest the presidency.
Okorocha now joins Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi, former Abia Governor, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, as aspirants from the South East zone to contest the 2023 Presidency on the platform of the APC.
