Okorocha’s in-law, Uche Nwosu kidnapped in Imo
Son-in-law of Owelle Rochas Okorocha, the immediate past Governor of Imo State, Uche Nwosu was earlier Sunday kidnapped by gunmen who stormed the St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Eziama-Obaire in Nkwerre Local Government Area.
Nwosu was at the church for the Outing Service of his mother, late Jemamah Nwosu, when he was abducted by the gunmen who had bundled him into the booth of a waiting car before driving off to an unknown destination.
Imo State Police Command is yet to confirm the incident, but eyewitness account say the gunmen stormed the church premises shooting sporadically into the air
Nwosu is a time-time Chief of Staff during the administration of former Governor Okorocha.
In 2019, Nwosu was initially the candidate of the Al Progressives Congress (APC) at the governorship elections before being upstaged by the incumbent Hope Uzodinma. He later adopted the platform of the AA to fly the party’s flag at the same poll.
Nwosu is in his country home for the burial of his mother.
“They drove him away amidst serious shooting in a video obtained by other news platforms.
“No one has so far claimed responsibility for the abduction,” informed an eyewitness.
