Otti tasks Governing Council to make ABSU best university in Nigeria

Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has tasked the new Governing Council of Abia State University, Uturu (ABSU) which has Rt. Hon. Agwu U. Agwu as Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, to make the institution one of the best universities in Nigeria.
Inaugurating the Council, Governor Otti described the current times in ABSU and Abia State in general as an interesting times, saying that the members of the Council have been found as one of the people that would drive the transformation his administration was pursuing.
“These are interesting times for our University and without sounding immodest, I must say that for you to have found yourself as one of the people that would champion this transformation, you are all outstanding.
“So, we have no doubt that you will do your best to change our University to one of the best universities in Nigeria, in fact Africa,” Governor Otti said.
The Governor congratulated the Chairman and members of the Council on their appointments and expressed confidence that they would perform based on their track records.
“It means a whole lot, a lot of confidence. All of you (members of the Council) are people of integrity, people who have good records, people who we can rely on their words,” he said.
Speaking on behalf of other members of the Council, the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Council, Rt. Hon. Agwu U. Agwu, expressed gratitude to Governor Otti for his trust in the membership of Council and assured that the Council would work in line with the vision of the preent administration to achieve the desired transformation of the institution.
“We want to assure you that we are going to hit the ground running. We will leave no stone unturned. We will not fail you, we will not fail ourselves, we will not fail Abians. We are going to put in our best to turn around the fortunes of ABSU.
“We assure you that ABSU is going to become the number one school, especially at the State level in the next three to four years,”, Dr. Agwu promised.
