Senate Minority leader, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, has called on Anambra people to elect the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the November 6 governorship election Mr. Valentine Chineto Ozigbo, saying he will be another voice against the marginalization of the Ndigbo in the Nigerian State.
Abaribe who spoke at the Onitsha pharmaceuticals market, Wednesday, said he had been the only voice speaking for Ndi-Igbo and assured them that Ozigbo would complement his efforts.
He was in company of Ozigbo and other PDP stalwarts for campaign in the area.
Abaribe told the traders that he had always been a defender of the Igbo cause, assuring them he would continue to ensure justice for Ndi Igbo.
“When Nnamdi Kanu was granted bail, I stood surety for him because I believe that he is one of us and deserves humane treatment.
“Ndi Igbo need more voices to speak up and fight for what is ours. I am only one voice, and I assure you that Ozigbo will be another voice that will ensure that we are not treated like second-grade citizens,” Abaribe said.
The former Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi, who also addressed the traders noted that there was need for the Igbo to have more voices to speak for them and Ozigbo was one of the voices.
Obi, a former Vice-Presidential candidate of the PDP in the 2019 General Election, said the Anambra governorship election was going to determine the fate of the Igbo in the coming years.
Obi urged Anambra people to align with the PDP, which he said, had always protected the interest of Ndi Igbo, and would negotiate for their interest at the centre.
