PDP inaugurates 15 sub-committees ahead National Convention in October
Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), National Convention Organisation Committee, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, has officially inaugurated 15 sub-committees, just as he disclosed that over 6, 000 delegates of the party are expected to storm Abuja for the event this October.
The Adamawa state governor also disclosed that plans are going smoothly ahead of the party’s landmark political gathering to pick a new National Working Committee (NWC) for the next four years.
He stated this while inaugurating 15 sub convention committees on Thursday at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja, with Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, and his Oyo counterpart, Seyi Makinde in attendance.
“We are expecting over 6, 000 delegates by our new constitution and we are fully prepared for that. We’re expecting everybody in every ward that is a delegate to attend the convention.
“We are moving on. I am the chairman of the convention committee and you can see that we are doing our work. Everybody is happy and participating. I don’t see any crisis in this party,” Adamawa governor Fintiri said.
PDP appointed Governors Wike, Governors Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom, and Darius Ishaku of Taraba states, as chairmen of Special Duties, Constitutional Amendment and Contact and Mobilisation sub-committees respectively.
Other appointments as announced by Bayelsa Governor, Senator Duoye Diri include Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu, Mohammed Bello Adoke, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State and Solomon Arase as chairmen of zoning, screening, screening appeal, accreditation and security committees, respectively.
Others are Ahmadu Fintiri (Electoral), Edo Governor, Godwin Obaseki (publicity), Bauchi Governor, Bala Mohammed (Venue), Mariya Waziri (Welfare and Entertainment), Ibrahim Dankwambo (Transportation), Biodun Olujimi (Protocol), Nuhu (Medical) and Ibrahim Tsauri (Secretariat).
