In a move to mitigate the impact of the recent surge in electricity charges, the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution company has announced a downward reduction of electricity tariff within its franchise area.
The review in tariff the company said in a public announcement is in line with the recent May 2024 MYTO Order Tariff Review and affects only consumers in its Band A feeders.
The message partly read “Please be informed that there is a downward tariff review for our Band A Feeders from 225N/Kwh to
206.80N/Kwh effective 6th May 2024.
“The guaranteed availability of a minimum of 20 hrs per day still stands”, the company said.
The PHED further stated that tariff for Bands B, C, D, E remains unchanged.
The franchise areas for the PHED covers four states comprising Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Rivers and Bayelsa.
