PHED deploys 20,000 free electricity meters to customers
… Warns against meter tapering, relocation

The Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution, Plc has announced plans to deploy 20,000 meters to its Band A customers across its franchise area.
This is contained in a statement by the Head Corporate Communications, Olubukola Ilevbare after a meeting in the company’s headquarters in Port Harcourt.
She said the meters which is at no cost to the beneficiaries is aimed at closing the metering gap and also ensuring proper energy accounting.
“We bring you good news. PHED has set aside 20,000 prepaid meters for her unmetered customers on its Band A Feeders.
“This is aimed at closing the metering gap and ensuring proper energy accounting.
“These meters are FREE and are to be installed at no cost to the customer”, she said.
The PHED also issued a warning the general public and customers to refrain from tampering meter installations.
It warned against negative activities including illegal/unauthorized meter movement/meter relocation by unauthorized persons/customers.
The franchise areas covered by the PHED are Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Rivers and Bayalsa states.
