(Photo news): 7yrs after, Saraki meets ex-President Jonathan
Seven years after ousting Goodluck Jonathan from Aso Rock in 2015, former senate president, Dr Bukola Saraki has formally met the ex-Nigerian leader in Abuja.
Saraki had defected to the then growing league of politicians who pitched their tents with the All Progressives Congress (APC) to remove the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President Jonathan.
However, since that political move in 2014, Saraki has never met with Jonathan.
Now an aspirant for the Presidential ticket of the PDP in the 2023 Presidential elections, the former senate president, Thursday, visited Jonathan in Abuja ‘to commiserate with him on the loss of his aides, and to thank the Almighty God for sparing his life in his recent car accident,’ Saraki disclosed via his verified twitter handle (@bukolasaraki).
Saraki visited Jonathan in company of Presidential campaign director, Bolaji Abdullahi.
“Yesterday, alongside Mallam @BolajiAbdullahi , I visited our former President, His Excellency @GEJonathan, to commiserate with him on the loss of his aides, and to thank the Almighty God for sparing his life in his recent car accident,” Saraki wrote.
Jonathan recently survived a car crash while returning to his Abuja residence from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA).
The accident, however, claimed the lives of two of his security detail.
