*Senate President in Kano for Sani Dangote’s burial

Presidential delegates alongside the Senate President graced the burial funeral prayer of late Vice President of Dangote Group, Alh. Sani Dangote at Emir’s palace Kano.

The prayer session was held at exactly 10:05 am local time Tuesday and lead by the  chief imam of Kofar Kudu, Sheikh Sani Muhammad.

Sani well known business tycoon and immediate brother to Alh. Aliko Dangote the President Dangote group died after suffering with cancer in Miami hospital United State on Monday.

Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, his deputy Nasir Yusuf Gawuna, Emir of Kano alh Aminu Ado Bayero, Alh Aliko Dangote kano politicians and business community attended the prayer.

Kano state Governor Dr.Umar Ganduje said Nigeria has lost an illustrious son, especially the business community

“We received the information about the passing away of this gentleman Alhaji Sani Dangote with shock. Kano state, our dear country Nigeria and the business community have lost an illustrious son.

“But to all of us particularly those from Kano state. We lost a rare gem in the business community.

“It is therefore on behalf if the government and good people of Kano state that I am sending our heartfelt condolence to the immediate families of Alhaji Sani Dangote and to his brother Alhaji Aliko Dangote over his death,” Governor Abdullahi Ganduje mourns.

The presidential delegation includes SA to Mr president on media and publicity Garba Shehu, minister of aviation Hadi Sirika.

Others are senate president Ahmad Lawan, former senate president Bukola Saraki, Borno state governor Babagana Umara Zulum, former Borno state governor Kashim Shettima and his counterpart of Nasarawa state senator Abdullahi Adamu, serving and former members of national assembly.

The business community was lead by Alh Abdussamad Isyaku Rabiu, president BUA conglomerate, the publisher of Thisday newspape,r Nduka Ogbobuna etc.

The body was laid to rest at exactly 11am at the Dantata family grave yard situated at Koki in Kano municipal local government area, where shiekh Tijjani Bala Kalarawi lead the prayer for the deceased.

The President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan arrived in Kano Wednesday morning to attend the burial of Alhaji Sani Dangote who died on Sunday.

Lawan is being accompanied on the trip from Abuja by Senator Sani Musa, Senator Bello Mandiya, Senator Tokunbo Abiru, Alhaji Auwal Lawan(Sarkin Sudan Gombe) and Senator Barau Jubrin.

Sani Dangote who until his death was the Vice President of the Dangote Group, was a younger brother of Alhaji Aliko Dangote who is the Founder/ Chairman of the Dangote Group.

In his condolence message on Monday, Lawan described Sani Dangote as a “great entrepreneur who brought his business acumen to impact positively on the Nigerian economy and Africa in general, particularly in the areas of manufacturing, agriculture and oil services.”

He said his death was “a great loss to Nigeria and Africa given the passion of the Dangote Group for the development of the country and continent.”
