Qatar 2022 WCQ: Nigeria’s Super Eagles match ready for CAR, Thursday
Nigeria’s Super Eagles are set to play the Central African Republic (CAR) national team, in the first of two legs at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos, Thursday.
Thursday’s Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifier in the Africa zone sees the Super Eagles return to the pitch after the slim 2:1 victory secured against Cape Verde, last month.
Super Eagles, with six points from two matches, are aiming to win the back-to-back clashes with CAR, which will confirm their qualification for the final round of the 2022 World Cup qualifying series.
The Eagles presently top Group C ahead of the Lone Star of Liberia who are second with three points, while other members of the group, Cape Verde and the CAR are on one point each after all teams have completed two games.
The Eagles camp is already full with the invited players, as Manager, Gernot Rohr, Wednesday had a training session was the team’s first 11-aside game at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, which will host the first of the two matches against CAR.
The second leg of the encounter will be played in Cameroun, instead of CAR, next week.
