Rep Kama kicks off OHANIVO Unity Cup Season Two

Member representing Onicha, Ohaozara and Ivo Federal Constituency, Hon Kama Nkemkanma, has kicked off the season two of his annual football competition, known as OHANIVO Unity Cup.
Kicking off the competition on Saturday, 23, November,2024, at the football pitch of the Federal College of Agriculture, Ishiagu, Ivo LGA, Ebonyi State, the Lawmaker said the idea behind the competition was to unite his constituents and harness talents.
This was even as he noted that the competition was part of his efforts towards bridging the gap between the Constituency and the people.
Kama equally pledged to assist those that would distinguished themselves at the end of the competition to further their footballing career.
“All we are trying to do is to bridge the gap between our Constituency and the people; to use football to create unity amongst our people; to know if we can harness talents from here, and see how we can help in the best of our ability to make sure that those who distinguished themselves in this competition by God’s grace further their footballing career, ” Kama said.
The kick-off match was between Ishiagu (home) team and Onicha (away) team, while a total of 20 football teams are featuring in the competition.
The 20 teams are grouped into four.
The winners, according to the Lawmaker, will receive a cash prize of N3.5m, while the second and third place teams are to receive N2.5m and N1.5m respectively.
“All participating teams are to receive N500,000 at the end of the tonament,” Kama disclosed.
Our Correspondent reports that this is the second season of the OHANIVO Unity Cup.The first season took place in 2023.
