
Security agencies didn’t interfere with C’River N’Senatorial polls – Witnesses

Some witnesses called by the Senator representing Cross River North Senatorial District say security agencies did not disrupt the Cross River North Senatorial elections.
The witnesses which were called by the winner of the elections Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe spoke during the continuation of their cross examination in the case which has as suit number EPT/CR/SEN/02/2023.
During cross examination, one of the witnesses Wonah Joseph from Okpoma, Yala, a registered member of the PDP said the election was not disrupted by any of the security agencies.
He admitted that the BIVAS was used for the elections and there was no issue with the device throughout the elections.
He also admitted that all party agents signed results in his polling unit at the end of the elections and it was duly conducted.
Also testifying, Achine Gregory from Otugwang Obudu, said there was no violence at any time during the elections.
He also admitted that soldiers, militants and tbugs did not come to disrupt the process before and after the elections and it was duly conducted.
He equally confirmed that at the end of the elections all party agents including security agencies were given copies of the INEC form EC8A1.
He added that they were neither induced nor forced to vote for any candidate.
Similarly, Leo Ibembem from Ogoja also confirmed the propriety of the elections and debunked allegations of military interference in the process.
Hearing continues in the case through this weekend and thirty three witnesses are expected to testify for the third respondent.
