Senate considers Buhari’s nominees for CCB, INEC REC
Senate, Wednesday, mandated its Committee on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to consider request by President Muhammadu Buhari for confirmation of appointment of two Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs) submitted to the Upper Chamber.
The nominees are; Mahmuda Isah from Kebbi and Mann Omobayi Alli from Ondo. While Isah is being considered for renewal of appointment, Alli is for a fresh appointment.
Senate also referred to its committee on Ethics, privileges, and public petitions, a request by President Buhari to confirm his appointment of five nominees as members of the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB).
The nominees are; Murtala Kankia, representing North West zone, Zephaniah Ishaku Bulus, representing North Central zone, while Farouq Umar, represents the North East zone.
Others are; Abdulsalam Olawale, representing South West, and Prof. Juwayriya Badamasiuy, representing North Central.
