Senator distributes uniforms, educational materials to Ebonyi South school pupils

Senator representing Ebonyi South Senatorial district, Senator Michael Ama Nnachi has commenced the distribution of school uniforms and other educational materials to schools to enhance teaching and learning in his zone.
Nnachi while presenting the educational materials to the pupils at Umunnabuike Primary School,Itim Edda, on Wednesday, said Education was the passport to the future.
The Senator who was represented at the flag-off by Mrs Emerald Udeakaji, stated that the program was part of educational intervention initiative of Distinguished Senator Michael Ama and wife,Clara Ijeoma Nnachi, geared towards providing necessary materials for pupils of the Senatorial district to prepare them ahead of future challenges.
“This is just the flag-off, we will go round the five Local Government areas of the Senatorial District for the distribution,” he said.
Speaking further, he noted that every child deserved the right to quality Education, adding that the distribution of the materials was a way of contributing their quota towards achieving the dream of securing the future
He encouraged the parents to ensure their children imbibed good reading culture, saying, it will help them to become better people in the society.
He called for continual support from the people for more sustainable development of the Senatorial District.
He said that he would continue to provide qualitative representation to the people and embark on projects that would boost education in his district, adding that apart from the distribution of educational materials,he had attracted the construction and Completion of three class room blocks with offices furnished at Central School Oshiri in Onicha Local Government, Aja Nwachukwu School Okposi in Ohaozara Local Government Area and Itim Secondary School among others including equipping of ICT center at Itim Secondary School.
Some of the educational materials given to the pupils include: school uniforms, bags, books, pens, erasers, among others.
The headmistress of the school Mrs Josephine Chima who commended the federal lawmaker for choosing the school to Flag off the programme, described him as a God sent to humanity.
”I am very grateful for this gesture by Senator Ama Nnachi and wife, Clara for bringing this kind of initiative to our school, they are indeed a caring father and mother to us all,” she said.
She said materials given to the pupils would go a long way in providing a spring board for easy learning and would definitely encourage them.
She prayed for God’s guidance and protection upon the Senator and wife.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman of Ogbu ward, Mr Duncan Okoro, also appreciated the Senator and his wife, and described him as a human capacity builder and urged the people to support his second term ambition to the National Assembly.
The leader of Ike Edda women, Mrs Florence Agwu had called on parents to teach their children how to read their books and compliment the gesture with excellent academic performance.
She noted the Senator’s numerous achievements as a first timer and said it had earned him an endorsement for a second tenure, while encouraging the women of Ebonyi South to keep supporting him.
Two of the beneficiaries, Miss Oluebube Orji, and Master Michael Uduma also showered encomiums on the lawmaker and wife and prayed God to continue to bless them.
