He reiterated his immeasurable love for the teachers having come from a teaching background.
He assured teachers in the state that he is willing to work closely with them going forward.
Earlier, State Chairman of the NUT, Comrade Gregory Olayi, appreciated the lawmaker for welcoming them.
He thanked him for his numerous interventions and contributions in the Education sector as a legislator and further pleaded that Teachers should be considered by the Senator in his programs.
He lamented the poor treatment meted on them by the Governor Ben Ayade led APC Government.
According to him, “in the past seven years, no promotion, gratuity and other insensitive have been paid to any teacher in Cross River State, rather, the State Government deducts her dues without remittance to the Union”, he said.
As part is the visit, Senator Jarigbe promised a Brand New Vehicle for the union which he said will be delivered before the New Year.
He further empowered the 25 Zonal chapters and part of the state Excos from the North with One Motocycle each.
