Seven persons die of strange disease at Enugu livestock market

Seven persons have died while about eight others are critical ill following the outbreak of a strange disease at New Artisan Market, Enugu.
Chairman of the livestock market, Mr Dandladi Abubakar, who disclosed this to Journalists in Enugu on Friday, explained that the seven deaths included four men and three women.
Abubakar said the residents within the artisan market woke up early morning and discovered the corpses and others who were critically sick, stooling and vomiting at different households.
He said the Muslims among the deceased would be buried according to Islamic rites.
Those in critical condition were rushed to Enugu State teaching hospital for medical attention.
Our Correspondent reports that health officials from the State Ministry of Health were seen on ground for on-the-spot assessment, though they declined to make official comment.
New Artisan Market is also known as the Goat Market, Enugu.
