Soludo mourns Obadiah Mailafia, says His death is a loss to the nation
Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo, former Governor Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in November 6, governorship election in Anambra State has described the death of Dr Obadiah Mailafia, former Deputy Governor of CBN as a loss to the nation.
Dr Mailafia was appointed in 2005 to replace Mrs Wahir Mshelia as the Deputy Governor for Policy on Monday 9 May.
Soludo, in a release signed by Mr Joe Anatune, said the news of Dr Mailafia’s death came to him as a rude shock.
He described the deceased as a nationalist and a progressive Nigerian who believed in the unity and progress of the country.
The APGA governorship candidate , therefore extend his profound condolences to the immediate family of Dr Mailafia and also commiserated with the people of the Middle Belt Region whose cause the deceased had relentlessly fought.
He prayed to God to grant the deceased family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
