Soludo speaks at Investiture of St. Christopher Knighthood, commits Anambra poll to God
… gets a rousing welcome at Umuchu, as he celebrates new yam festival with the people of the community

The candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for the November 6 governorship election in Anambra State, Prof Chukwuma Soludo , has called on the Church to pray and commit the forthcoming polls into the hands of God.
Soludo made this remark while speaking as a guest at the Initiation and Investiture to the order of the Knighthood of St. Christopher at the Cathedral Church of St. John, Ekwulobia, Aguata Local Government Area of the state
The former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria(CBN), in his goodwill message said Investiture of Knighthood is the height of devotion and service to God in the Church.
He therefore called on the newly initiated Knights to remain committed and fully dedicated to the service of God and mankind at all times.
The APGA gubernatorial candidate reiterated the need for the Church to continue to pray for peace in the state especially now that the gubernatorial election is fast approaching .
He prayed for the will of God and that of the people of Anambra State to prevail at the election, adding that the evil plans of those preparing to destabilise the state would fail woefully.
He stated further that Anambra State, being predominantly Christians who believe and pray fervently to God at all times, will continue to experience peace and prosperity under His grace and favour.
He expressed gratitude to the Bishop and every member of the Church for the warm reception and recognition accorded him and promised to visit the Cathedral again during their Synod.
Cee Cee Soludo was earlier received on arrival at the Cathedral by Hon Emeka Aforka, Deputy Majority Leader, Anambra State House of Assembly; Assistant Inspector General of Police, Chris Ezike, (rtd); Hon Ogochukwu Ekwueme, son of former Vice President Dr Alex Ekwueme; Hon Okey Okoye , Member Representing Aguata, Anambra State House of Assembly; Hon Ify Ibinabo, Chairman Orumba North LGA; Hon Chike Anyaonu, former Member, Anambra State House of Assembly; Hon Chinedu Nwoye , Chairman of ASSG and many others.
In another development ,the community of Umuchu in Aguata Local Government Area of the state, literally stood still for Prof Soludo, when he stormed the community to celebrate the New Yam Festival with the people.
The APGA candidate, on arriving the community, alighted from his vehicle to the deafening cheers from the enthusiastic supporters and people of the community.
He walked a distance of about 200 metres in company of the surging and cheering crowd to Umuchu Civic Centre, the venue of the event, with shouts of Odenigbo! Dike-Udo! renting the air.
The crowd became even more excited and uncontrollable just to catch a glimpse of the APGA governorship candidate on his arrival at the venue also with more shouts of Odenigbo Aguata na Orumba! Dike-Udo!!!
While welcoming Soludo to Umuchu, His Royal Highness, Igwe Godson O. Ezechukwu, the Okwuluoba 1 of Umuchu, appreciated the APGA candidate for honouring the community and the people of Umuchu with his presence at their New Yam Festival.
The highly revered Igwe told Soludo that the community is fully behind his governorship bid and would give him all the necessary support.
He assured Soludo that his journey to become the next governor of Anambra State would not end in Anambra Government House only, but will take him higher to the presidency.
Cee Cee Soludo in his response thanked the Igwe and the people of Umuchu for the rousing reception accorded him_
He said Umuchu community has always occupied a special place in his mind and that he looks forward to partnering with the community in taking the state to a higher level._
He also expressed his deep gratitude to the Igwe for his kind words and assurances of his support and the community for his governorship project. He said he will partner and work with them in identifying their challenges with a view to solving it if he becomes the governor of Anambra state with their support come November 6, 2021.
