Suspected terrorists kidnap APC chieftain in Kaduna
Kaduna Government has confirmed the abduction of the Organising Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Kawu Yakassai in the state.
Yakassai was reportedly abducted by gunmen believe in his village within the Soba Local Government Area around 9pm on Friday.
As of the latest update, the kidnappers have not yet made any contact with the victim’s family or the leadership of the Kaduna State APC.
Confirming the incident, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani strongly condemned the abduction, just as he ordered security operatives to ‘swiftly track down the kidnappers and ensure the safe release of Yakassai.’
A statement conveyed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mohammed Shehu, also quoted the governor as reaffirming ‘his administration’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of all residents within the state.’
Governor Sani further highlighted the employment of 7,000 vigilantes as a measure to enhance security in Kaduna, complementing the efforts of traditional security forces.
