Tinubu in Benue, pledges to address internal security challenges
The All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assured Nigerians that he would address internal security challenges and return all Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs ) to their ancestral homes.
Tinubu gave the assurance on Thursday in Makurdi, the Benue State Capital in North Central Nigeria during presidential campaign rally of the party.
The Presidential Candidate also reaffirmed his promise to establish a loan scheme for students of higher institutions of learning if elected president of Nigeria.
Tinubu who said the effort would cushion the effect of economic hardship noted that the idea was targeted at providing quality and affordable education for Nigerian youths.
He said the foundation of the current hardship the nation was passing through was laid during the years of misrule under the Peoples Democratic Party PDP which he described as sabouttours of the nation’s economy.
National Chairman of APC, Senator Abdulahi Adamu called for the party’s harmony to ensure victory.
The APC Chairman who was represented by his Deputy, Senator Abubukar Kyari appealed for peacefyl conduct before, during and after the elections.
On his part, leader of the party in Benue State and Minister of Special Duties and Inter-governmental Affairs, Senator George Akume urged massive support for the APC in Benue and at the Federal Level.
He described Mr. Tinubu as a lover of the Benue people who has also shown concern over the plight and welfare of the people, assuring that if voted as President, he would do more.
APC Presidential Campaign D-G, Mr. Solomon Lalong said the APC would priotise the welfare of Benue people.
He urged the Labour Unions and Civil Servants to weep no more as the era of non payment of salaries was over.
“We will redeem the state of all hardship and relieve you of the burden,” he said.
He said Mr. Tinubu had great concern over the killings in Benue and would ensure he puts a stop to it.
The Governorship Candidate of APC in Benue State, Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia said the visit of the APC Presidential Candidate signalled the conclusion of campaigns in the state and urged supporters of the party to vote enmasse for Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the February elections.
Fr. Alia assured the APC Presidential Candidate to count on the support of Benue people and expressed the confidence that Bola Ahmed Tinubu has the capacity to bring transformation to Nigeria.
Voice of Nigeria reports that an unprecedented crowd thronged the Aper Aku Stadium in Makurdi, venue of the Campaign rally to register support and solidarity for the APC Presidential Candidate.
The supporters numbering in their thousands filled the stadium to capacity as the APC’s presidential candidate arrived the venue to a tumultuous cheers.
The Presidential Candidate, Tinubu and his running mate, Kashim Shettima, Governors of Plateau and other top party chieftains were present at the event.
