TNP hints of becoming political party, plans aggressive nationwide mobilization

From Boniface Okoro, Umuahia
The Nigerian Project (TNP) has hinted of its plan to transform into a a full-blown political party. The group says it wants to achieve this either by going into alliance with an existing political party or going it alone which would help it to retain its identity.

This is contained in the end-of-the-year message of the TNP Convener, Chief Regan Ufomba.
In the message which also contains TNP’s plan for 2025, Chief Ufomba disclosed that the group would engage in strategic discussions and negotiations with associations and groups that share common values and objectives with the organization and through such negotiations, build a coalition that would be strong enough to effect meaningful socio-economic and political reforms in 2025.
He said that national officers and board members who would drive the 2025 TNP plan would emerge in the first quarter of the New Year, adding that this would be followed by an aggressive membership drive nationwide and ensuring that TNP remains a beacon of hope for Nigerians.
“The importance of grassroots mobilization cannot be overstated. I urge all members, especially state and chapter coordinators, to intensify efforts to reach every corner of the nation and the diaspora. This is the time to bring more Nigerians into the fold, inspiring them to join us in creating a brighter future,” he said.
The TNP Convener maintained that the group’s vision already resonates with Nigerians from all walks of life, hence the need for an increased visibility in mainstream media across the globe.
He listed some of the positive results from the mobilization of the members so far to include the establishment of vibrant structures in the 36 states of the federation and the FCT and in the 774 local government areas, as well as most political wards and polling units.
Chief Ufomba commended the members for their commitment, passion, and belief through mobilization and advocacy.
“As we come to the close of 2024, it is a moment of great pride and gratitude to reflect on the incredible journey we have embarked upon together. This year, The Nigerian Project (TNP) under my stewardship has made significant strides in reviving the values, doctrine and ethos of our transformational leader, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (GCFR), and in laying the foundation for a movement that is not just about the imbibing of IBBnomics philosophy, but also about the rebirth of hope and the restoration of the Nigerian dream.
“As we celebrate Christmas and the New Year, let us take a moment to reflect on the progress we’ve made and renew our commitment to the ideals of TNP. Let us also extend love, kindness, and support to those around us, embodying the values that define our movement,” he said.
