Tragedy, as Senator Abdulazeez dies, four months after death of sibling, ‘Mama Taraba’
Younger sibling of former Minister of Women Affairs, late Hajiya Aisha Jummai Alhassan (alias Mama Taraba), Abubakar Abdulazeez Ibrahim is dead.
Abdulazeez is a former senator, reportedly died in his house in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital, after a brief illness, on Tuesday
Hajiya Alhassan ‘Mama Taraba’ had earlier died back in May, this year.
Aged 64, the late Senator Abdulazeez was twice elected into the Senate, and represented Taraba Central senatorial zone between 1999 and 2007. He was also a two-time gubernatorial candidate in the state.
The deceased studied Engineering and Business Administration at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
He was the proprietor of Ibramiyya Primary and Secondary Schools and Peacock College of Education in Jalingo.
According to a statement from his family, funeral prayers will be conducted at 1.30 pm at the palace of Emir of Muri.
The funeral prayers for his deceased sister held at the same place.
He will be buried at Jika da Fari burial ground, where the late ‘Mama Taraba’ was also buried.
