University of Calabar inducts Betta Edu into its prestigious Hall of Fame

A former National women leader of the All Progressives Congress, Dr. Betta Edu has been formally inducted into the Hall of Fame of the University of Calabar.

The induction took place during the Awards night of the institution which was held as part of activities marking the 50th anniversary/37th Convocation ceremony of the institution.

Speaking during the ceremony, Dr. Edu said it’s a privilege to be inducted saying the institution has been improving daily.

“It’s a privilege and I thank God Almighty for the opportunity to be inducted into the University of Calabar Hall of Fame.

“I also thank everyone who has contributed to the height we have attained in Nigeria, particularly President Bola Tinubu.

” Unical is a very great and powerful university and helped to instill leadership skills in me”, she said.

She also stressed that with initiatives like the students loan and other interventions by the present administration the future is bright for the university and education in Nigeria.

She promised that the Class of 2009 medical students have undertaken to complete and equip the Medical Centre of the University of Calabar.
