Uzodimma endorses Tinubu’s candidacy for APC
Imo State governor, Hope Uzondimma, has declared his happiness for the choice of the National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as the presidential candidate of the All Progress Congress (APC) in the upcoming 2023 polls.
Governor Uzodimma who participated visibly in organizing the APC convention and conduct of the primaries said the success and outcome of the process exemplified the commitment of the party to running credible and transparent processes.
He explained that Tinubu’s victory demonstrated that the APC is committed to democratic processes, noting that the primary elections were free, fair and credible.
Uzodimma who is the first APC governor in the South East zone of the country expressed conviction that the party would perform well in the 2023 presidential polls with Tinubu in the lead.
In his congratulatory message to Tinubu after the APC’s national convention and primary elections in Abuja last weekend, governor Uzodimma praised the party’s newly chosen presidential candidate for his tenacity and persistent in pursuing his ambition.
He pointed at Tinubu’s display of integrity, experience, credibility, strength and tenacity in drving the affairs of the party since he helped in founding it.
In a statement, Governor Uzodimma noted that Tinubu has the needed clout and popularity for the presidential race, noting that the Lagos string man has since mustered massive followership and loyalty after making contributions towards the growth and development of democracy in Nigeria.
Uzodimma reiterated that Tinubu’s victory has demonstrated the party’s commitment to credible polling process in 2023.
“This victory has also reiterated and demonstrated the strength, tenacity, experience, credibility and integrity of our Flag bearer, who is one of the founding members of our great party and no doubt, his huge support and contributions to the growth and development of our party, the APC and the nation’s democracy over the years cannot be overemphasized.
“By this victory we are confident that the APC will definitely cruise to victory in the 2023 presidential elections and other elections at all levels,” he stated.
Governor Uzodimma called on all oAPC supporters in Imo State, South East and across the country to unite in support of Tinubu and enable him succeed at the polls and deploy his wealth of experience, doggedness and sincerity of purpose to move our country forward.
The Imo state governor also congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari on credible and successful tenure, noting that the president is “exiting strong and handing over to a worthy successor who will continue your good works for our dear country.”
He also praised the APC Senator Abdullahi Adamu-led APC National Working Committee for creating a credible platform and ensuring that “our party conducted one of the most credible, free and fair presidential primaries in the history of our party and in the country.”
“In my capacity as the Chairman of the APC Special Convention and Presidential Primaries 2022, I want to call on my brothers who were aspirants during the presidential primaries to close ranks. The primary election is over and a winner has emerged, now is time to work together to support our flag bearer to win the 2023 Presidential elections,” he appealed.
