‘We are not jobless people,’ as IPOB asks S/East residents to ignore 5-day sit-at-home order
Secessionist group in the South East region, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has asked residents to ignore a widely-circulated notice ordering a five-day sit-at-home in the zone beginning from December 9 to 14, 2022.
The group, in a rebuttal issued by its Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful , Tuesday, described the reported order as ‘senseless,’ even as it called those behind the directive as being ‘against the Biafra agenda,’ adding further that IPOB is not made up of ‘miscreants, senseless, or jobless people.’
It would be recalled that a viral video currently circulating online ordering the people of the South-East to observe a sit-at-home on December 9 -14, 2022.
Reacting to the video, IPOB said it never issued any sit-at-home order on the days mentioned above.
“We wish to state unequivocally to the people of Biafra, friends of Biafra, and lovers of Biafra freedom that IPOB leadership did not issue any sit-at-home order on 9th,10th, 11th, 12th, 13th or 14th of December 2022.
“IPOB never issued any sit-at-home order on these days mentioned above because we are not miscreants, senseless, or jobless people.
“Every Biafran and residents in Biafra Land should ignore such order from untrained and brainless individuals whose agenda is to make Biafra agitation unattractive to our people. Every Biafran must go to their normal business on those days.
