‘We are the barracks,’ says Bianca Ojukwu, after inauguration brawl, congratulates Gov. Soludo
Mrs Bianca Ojukwu, widow of the late one-time Military Governor of the defunct Eastern Region, and Biafran leader, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, has congratulated the newly-sworn in Governor of Anambra, Prof Charles Soludo, as she declared the event as ‘day of liberation.’
Bianca who has been having a running battle with ex-governor Willie Obiano, shrugged off her encounter with the wife of the former governor, Ebelechukwu Obiano during the inauguration ceremony of Soludo at the Government House in Awka, early Thursday, to celebrate the occasion.
According to Bianca, who is also a leader of the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Anambra State, ‘This is the Day the Lord has made…a day that reaffirms the age-long truth that no-one holds the stage forever. I thank the Almighty for keeping us all alive to witness this day.’
The inauguration was almost marred by the two women who engaged in a physical fight in full view of guests and attendees at the Government House in Awka, when Mrs Obiano confronted Bianca questioning her presence at an event she (Bianca) allegedly vowed never to attend.
The shoving on Bianca by Mrs Obiano forced the former to rise and deliver a slap to the face of the ex-First lady of Anambra State, who equally responded by pulling off the wig of the widow of Odumegwu Ojukwu before security operatives rushed in to prevent further harm to either parties in the fight.
However, writing on her Facebook page, Thursday, Bianca called the inauguration of Soludo a ‘liberation day for Anambra State.’
Bianca wrote: “It’s Liberation Day, and today we sing the Redemption Song. Anambra will be better!”
“Now I know just how those Israelites felt on the day they took those tentative first steps out of the land of Egypt….Just the sheer excitement and anticipation of liberation, the long-awaited return to the promised land must have kept them awake through that night.
“This is the Day the Lord has made…a day that reaffirms the age-long truth that no-one holds the stage forever. I thank the Almighty for keeping us all alive to witness this day.
She added that a more dynamic and progressive Anambra is achievable.
“To Him be the glory. It was long in coming, but it’s finally here.
“Yes indeed….WE ARE THE BARRACKS!” she added.
