Leading indigenous oilfield services provider, Weafri Limited, has introduced a new set of technological solutions that would afford operating firms significant cost reduction on projects within and outside the country.
The new services and technology products are part of the partnership expansion strategies the indigenous company has introduced in recent years to not just remain ahead of the game but primarily bring solutions that benefit its clients with cost efficiency.
Executive Director of Weafri, Engr Chris Onyekwere, declared in Lagos that the new service products are part of successful expansion of its strategic partnership with leading Malaysian hi-tech oil and gas companies.
He stated that the technology collaboration which came into effect in 2024 brought on a new rage of hi-tech products and services which have now been deployed successfully in Nigeria for the first time, introducing cost effective and innovative solutions that redefine operational efficiency in the petroleum industry.
According to him, one of the key service products include the driverless Helicoid Epoxy Sleeve Technology which comes with a permanent solution for riser and well head corrosion.
“This groundbreaking approach eliminates the need for high risk unsafe conditions diving operations in shallow offshore platforms and facilities. In effect it significantly improves operations safety and eliminates maintenance and logistics costs for our clients,” Engr Onyekwere explained.
He stated that a separate partnership between Weafri and TNF brings solutions to rising cost of logistics and significantly reduces exposure of personnel to security risks.
“By implementing installation of scanner Technology, frequent facility and platform inspections can now be conducted remotely at the click of a button. This enhances efficiency, cost efficiency and safety. It practically eliminates logistics and security challenges,” Engr Onyekwere declared.
He noted that Weafri which won the Indigenous Nigerian Content Award of the year at the just concluded Sub-Saharan International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (SAIPEC) is not new to introducing innovation in the services sector of the petroleum industry in Nigeria.
“Since commencement of operation in 1988, Weafri has grown into a leading indigenous oil and gas service provider, saving cost, competing head -to-head with global giants across three continents. Our commitment to excellence was recognized at the recently concluded SAIPEC where Weafri was honored with the prestigious Indigenous National Content Service Company of the Year Award. This award reflects our dedication to National capacity development innovation, and best – in-class service delivery,” Engr Onyekwere explained.
“These achievements are not by chance. They are the result of our relentless commitment to delivering exceptional cost effective services, and simultaneously upholding the highest standards of HSE and quality management system. We are humbled by the trust and confidence of our clients worldwide and remain committed to driving innovation, cost efficiency, and operational excellence in the oil and gas industry,” he declared.
At the award ceremony at Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos, Engr Onyekwere had dedicated the recognition to the “hard working staff” of the company.
