WIEN’s Woman Podcast: ‘How women conquer oppressive power dynamics’

The third episode in the second season of the WIEN Woman Podcast brings lessons that equips rising female professionals in a male dominated milieu to overcome gender based power dynamics that is subconsciously evolved to keep them below their height.
Bringing palpable illustrations into the discourse is the Deputy Director in charge of Shipping Development and the Head of Tincan Port at the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr Chizoba Anyika, vividly explains how women can lead with confidence in male dominated work setting by applying emotional intelligence.

With vast experiences in NIMASA, NIGERDOCK, Sullivan & Sullivan Consulting and various inter-agency committees, Dr Anyika has met and worked and collaborated with numerous industry practitioners, government functionaries, academics and researchers. Her passion for professionalism has earned her outstanding pedigree for strategic results.
Mrs. Anyika is a Fellow of Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport; Fellow of Nigerian Institute of Shipping (NIS); and Fellow of Chartered Marine Technologist, Institute of Marine Science & Technology (IMaResT, UK). She is also a Member, Nigeria Institute of Public Relations; Founding Member of Women In Logistics and Transport (WiLAT-Nigeria) in charge of Maritime Mode; and Certified Member of Maritime Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR). She is the current Secretary, Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association (WISTA-Nigeria) and Publicity Secretary, Chartered Institute of Transport Administration (CiOTA).
