Willian terminates Arsenal contract, heads back to Brazil, as Torreira nears exit
Arsenal winger, the Brazillian, Willian Borges has terminated his contract with Arsenal as the 33-year-old looks to push for a move away from the Emirates, according to reports.
The winger joined the Gunners from Chelsea last summer on a lucrative three-year contract but has failed to impress in north London and is edging closer to penning a deal with Corinthians, tweeted Jorge Baravalle.
Willian has been offered a deal by the Brazilian side that could see him sign a one or two-year contract as talks continue to materialise between the various parties, reported Fabrizio Romano.
Arsenal are happy to open the door to Willian’s exit on a free transfer for the winger who is the second highest wage earner at the club on over £190, 000 per week, in order to get his wages off the books and ease the financial strain on the club.
However, the two-time Premier League winner prefers a European move, according to reports.
In a related development at the London club, Lucas Torreira has signed the paperwork to complete his initial loan move to Fiorentina from Arsenal that includes an option to buy, reports transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The Uruguay international, who joined the Gunners from Sampdoria for £25.8 million in 2018, will secure the Gunners a small windfall of €1.5 million (£1.28m) in loan fees, however, La Fiola have a €15 million (£12.8m) option to buy at the end of the deal.
