Wura-Ola appointed acting CG of Immigration Service
Following the expiration of the extended stay in office of Mr Isah Jere as Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), the Board of Civil Defense, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services has appointed Mrs Adepoju Carol Wura-Ola to the position, but in an acting capacity.
Jere’s extended stay in office authorized by past president, Muhammadu Buhari, expired, May 29.
The Board in a letter dated May 26, 2023 and signed by its Secretary, Ja’afaru Ahmed, Monday in Abuja, said the appointment takes effect from Tuesday 30th May 2023.
“I write to convey the approval of the Chairman of the Board for you to cover duties of the Office of the Comptroller General, Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) as the most senior Deputy Comptroller General (DCG).
“You are enjoined to bring to bear your wealth of experience on the job as well as Consolidate on the ongoing transformation of the Service,” the letter read.
