‘You bootlicker that called me bandit lover,’ Sheik Gumi shades Buhari’s aide Adesina
Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi has replied Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, calling the latter a ‘bootlicker’ adding that ‘only a fool will allow his dwelling to be a theatre of war.’
Adesina had earlier kicked off the verbal salvo in his characteristic manner when in a recent article posted by him, he had referred to the Islamic cleric as ‘bandit lover,’ days after Sheik Gumi had asked the Federal Government to grant amnesty to the bandits, as the cleric queried the renewed military offensive launched by government against the bandits who he claimed ‘had all fled Zamfara State by now.’
Adesina had continued in the said article that ‘bandits are going nowhere’, while noting that a bandit-lover has been all out against the offensive.
However, taking to his verified Facebook account, Friday, Gumi fired some salvo back at Adesina, saying: “You bootlicker that called me a bandit-lover! I am not one, but my country-lover, my region-lover, my state-lover, and my people-lover, and humanity-lover.”
Gumi had many times disagreed with the way the Federal Government treated bandits.
The cleric insisted that bandits must be forgiven and also be given amnesty if Nigeria is serious about ending banditry in the country.
He argued that if those who instigated civil war as well as those who committed treasonable offences could be forgiven the same treatment should be applied to bandits

“Killing rats in your rat-infested sitting room with an iron rod will only end up destroying your gadgets and furniture probably without killing any. We should not mask our poor governance with artillery power,” Gumi said.
