Federal College Isu commences degree programmes

Federal College of Education Technical, Isu in Ebonyi State has commenced degree programmes.
The Provost of the College, Professor Okechukwu Reuben who disclosed this while briefing Journalists on Tuesday, explained that the College had been authorized by law, dully assented to by the president to run both NCE and Degree programmes.
He further explained that the College now admits and trains students for both NCE and Degree programmes without recourse to any other tertiary institution.
He further disclosed that the College had been accredited to run pre-NCE programme for those candidates seeking admission but were deficient in their basic admission requirements.
“The college, was granted dual mode status which means that the college can admit and train students for both NCE and Degree programmes without recourse to any other tertiary institution.
“We have been authorized by law dully assented to by the president to run both NCE and Degree programme within our college. A mile stone which eluded many colleges but available to us on a platter.
“We have also been accredited to run pre-NCE programme for those candidates seeking admission but are deficient in their basic admission requirements namely at the O’level certifications and JAMB results.
“Our college welcomes all those candidates with deficiencies to apply instead of idling away at homes waiting for admissions or expectations that are endless and may never come,” he said.
Professor Reuben who is the pioneer Provost of the College noted that since it was established in 2021 by the administration of president, Muhammadu Buhari, the Management of the College had shown enough committment towards ensuring that the College offers the best services to the people.
He urged Nigerians to appreciate and have confidence in the Country’s education system, rather than seeking education from unknown institutions outside the shores of the country.
“The college in 2022/23 Academic session commenced for teaching skills its full academic programme and admitted its pioneer students in all the departs and programmes. We have a total of One Hundred and Sixty-Five (165) students for a start referred to as “Pioneer students”. Its as a fantasm and unbelievable to record this size of students enrolment for a take-off in any tertiary institution South of the Niger but providentially we were able to achieve it to the Glory of God.
“I would like to key into the wise counsel of Albert Camus which states inter alia” Achievement is a bondage; it obliges one to a higher achievement. From the above premise, I invite candidates, nay, Nigerians to appreciate and have confidence in our educational system, attend and obtained certificates within the frame of the Nigeria educational institutions instead of seeking education from unknown institutions outside the shores of this country especially now that the President has shown commendable interest in lifting the Nigeria Educational system to the global standard.
“Presently, we have qualified academic staff and we are better equipped in terms of infrastructure and staff manpower to take our students to most enviable height to ensure quality and standard,” he stated.
He therefore invited prospective students seeking admission into tertiary Institutions to come to the college for easier admission.
“We invite all our teaming youths seeking admission into tertiary Institution to come to our college with abundance of opportunities for admission made ease. Those who sat for JAMB and scored up to 100 and are being denied admission elsewhere should change to any course in our college.

“I sincerely invite candidates from the college catchment zone which include all the five South Eastern states of Ebonyi, Enugu, Abia, Imo and Anambra states.
