Emulate Iwuanyanwu, work for peace and unity, GAPS DG tells Ndigbo

The Director-General of Global Awareness for Public Safety Foundation (GAPS), Apostle Chuks Alozie, has called on people of the South East region to imbibe the spirit and zeal to work for unity of Ndigbo like the late President-General of Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide, Chief Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Iwuanyanwu.
Apostle Alozie in a statement made available to The Oracle Today in Umuahia, noted that the late leader personified the fight for Igbo unity, even as he fearlessly but diplomatically fought for the rights and freedom of Ndigbo in the country.
“I call on sons and daughters of South East extraction to always have the spirit of oneness, just as the late businessman and Elder Statesman, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, exhibited while he was alive,” the GAPD DG said.
He described the demise of the late President-General of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo as a great loss to the Igbo race and Nigeria in general.
Apostle Alozie while recounting his last encounter with the late Chief Iwuanyanwu at the Founders Day of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture (MOUAU), where he spoke on the importance of Igbo unity to bring about greater development and progress within the region and country.
The GAPS DG said that he fancied the Elder Statesman’s leadership style in piloting the affairs Ohaneze Ndigbo as its President-General as he deployed dialogue and steady pursuit of Igbo rights and interests within the Nigerian space and beyond, which helped in restoring and strengthening the unity and peace of the organization and the region.
“I was proud of his style of leadership as President-General of Ohaneze Ndigbo worldwide, using dialogue, always going for the right of his people, always fighting for safety of Ndigbo anywhere they found themselves, even as he believed in peace and progress of Nigeria,” Apostle Alozie said.
While praying God to grant the soul of late Iwuanyanwu eternal rest, the GAPS DG, urged the Government of Imo state to immortalize the acclaimed Igbo leader.
On behalf of his family, board and management of GAPS, Apostle Alozie condoled with Ohaneze Ndi Igbo worldwide, Government and people of Imo state, as well as the entire Iwuanyanwu family over the death of Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu.
