Consensus candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the governorship poll in Cross River, Senator Bassey Otu has promised to build revenue streams across all the local government areas of the state.

Senator Otu made the pledge in Calabar while being welcomed by thousands of his supporters in the state following a successful screening exercise in Abuja.

He said that he brings a vision of prosperity to the state and also promised to complete all industries established by Professor Ben Ayade and develop value chains for them.

In his words, “You are going to our incoming government from 2023 and I don’t want to see anyone sleep hungry in the state.

“I will build revenue streams across all local government areas in the state, complete all projects and also build value chains for all our industries.

“I bring you a dream of a prosperous Cross River State and I hope to build on what the governor has done as well as expand on his human capital development”, he said.

He thanked his supporters for spending hours to wait for him at the airport and also trekking long distance from the airport to the campaign office just for him.

He said he is deeply touched by this and pledged not to let the people down.

On his part, the director general of the Prince Bassey Otu Campaign Organisation Ambassador Sonny Abang said Senator Bassey Otu is the best candidate for the Government House.

He said Senator Otu is a good manager of resources, rooted in youth development and also a well prepared material for the governorship of the state.

As part of the ceremony, goodwill messages were delivered by leaders from the northern, central and southern senatorial districts of the state.

Senator Otu is a two term member of the federal House of Representatives as well as a Senator.

During his time as a legislator he chaired the house committee on petroleum Upstream as well as the Senate finance committee, among others.
