Ikpeazu launches senatorial campaigns, promises Abia South impactful, effective, representation

Abia State Governor and PDP Senatorial Candidate of Abia South, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, has assured that he would provide effective and efficient representation for his constituents if he is elected to represent them in the Senate.
Ikpeazu gave the assurance during the official flag-off of his Senatorial Campaign in Ukwa West LGA held at Obehie Central School last Tuesday, January 10, 2023.
The Governor called on the people of Ukwa West to vote PDP massively, saying that he was committed to making impactful representation and improving on the records of those who were there before.
According to a statement by the Chief Press Secretary, Onyebuchi Ememanka, the Governor said he has ensured that his administration favoured Ukwa West people, including in the areas of appointments and restoration of electricity in the area, among others.
Also speaking, the PDP candidate for Ukwa East and West Federal Constituency, Chief Chris Nkwonta, Ukwa West House of Assembly candidate, Hon. Godwin Adiele, expressed their commitment and support for the senatorial ambition of Dr Ikpeazu and assured Ukwa people of quality representation.
In their speeches, the Commissioner for Environment, Barr. Sam Nwogu, Deputy Chief of Staff, Office of the Deputy Governor, Sir Don Ubani, and a former member of the Old Imo State House of Assembly, Dame Victoria Akanwa, described the event as a declaration of total support for Governor Okezie Ikpeazu to enable him to provide the needed quality representation as the incumbent Senator has not shown true representation to the people.
The statement quoted the Speakers expressed their implicit confidence in the Governor, adding that he has done well by restoring electricity supply to the area and assured him of massive votes next month.
Contributing, Mr. Ebere Emezuruike, on behalf of the transport unions, the NATO Chairman, Uchenna Anunobi, and Chairman National Youth Council of Nigeria, Ukwa West, Mr. Ndukaku Nwagbara, extolled the Governor for his achievements and assured that they would mobilize their men to support Governor’s senatorial bid.
Earlier, the PDP Chairman of Ukwa West LGA, Mr. Kingsley Enyite, had assured the Governor and other PDP candidates that Ukwa West was for them as “Ukwa West is PDP and PDP is Ukwa West.” He urged all the people of Ukwa West to support the Governor to realize his senatorial ambition.
“The campaign flag-off attracted many dignitaries, including the Director-General, Uche Ndi Abia Campaign Organization, Rt Hon Chinedum Elechi, the Director-General, Okezie Victor Ikpeazu Campaign Council, Hon. A.C.Thomas Nkoro, Pastor Ralph Egbu, party chieftains and traditional rulers, among others.”
Moving over to Ugwunagbo local government area on Thursday in continuation of his campaigns, Ikpeazu assured the people of his commitment to redefine representation of Abia South Senatorial District, if elected.
Addressing a crowd of supporters at the Ugwunagbo campaign rally, Wednesday, at Umuodo Comprehensive Secondary School; and the School of Health Technology, Aba South LGA respectively, Governor Ikpeazu further assured that he would provide quality and effective representation for the Abia South constituents if elected.
The Governor described other PDP candidates as men of impeccable character and urged the people to be resolute in their support for him as well as vote overwhelmingly for all candidates of the party in the coming elections.
“I will bring what is due to the people of Abia South Senatorial zone. I will redefine representation. I will uncover good things for Abia South Senatorial Zone, if Elected.
“It is a promise, it is a pledge. You have tried and tested me. I will not fail you,” he said.
Ikpeazu who also used the occasion to empower three youths of Ugwunagbo with mobility, reminded the people that his administration has empowered many youths in the state and fulfilled his campaign promises of 2014.
Also, the PDP candidate for Obingwa, Osisioma and Ugwunagbo Federal Constituency, Chief Chinwe Nwanganga, and candidate for Ugwunagbo State Constituency, Mr. Chijioke Uruakpa, thanked the Governor and the party for the great support extended to Ugwunagbo, especially in ensuring that the local government was given the House of Representatives ticket. They said that the people were ready to deliver PDP and its candidates overwhelmingly.
In his speech, the Abia PDP Governorship Candidate, Prof. Uche Ikonne, represented by Mr Ibe Nwadioha, commended the for his achievements which, he said, were evidence of his commitment to good governance.
Coordinator of Ugwunagbo PDP Campaign Council, Chief Kelechi Dede, the LGA PDP Chairman, Mr. Promise Iheasimuo, and representative of Ugwunagbo women, Mrs. A.U Nwachukwu, as well as the representative of NARTO in Ugwunagbo LGA, Comrade Chukwudi Ahuama, among others, pledged to would work together to deliver PDP in all the elections.
They affirmed their readiness in mobilizing supporters for the PDP and assured to deliver 100 percent votes for the party during the elections.
