Otti replaces Deputy Chief Of Staff in fresh appointments, reassignments

Abia State Governor, His Excellency, Dr. Alex Otti, has appointed Barr. Chijioke Nwankwo, as his new Deputy Chief of Staff, Office of the Deputy Governor.
According to a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Citizen Ukoha Njoku Ukoha, made available to newsmen in Umuahia on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, Barr. Nwankwo replaces Chinedum Ekeke, the erstwhile Deputy Chief of Staff, Deputy Governor’s Office, who resignation to contest the local government chairmanship of Isuikwuato local government area.
In the new set of appointments, Otti also made the former Personal Assistant to former Governor Theodore Orji, Dr. Emeka Enyiazu, his Special Adviser, Education (Tertiary) and Deputy Speaker Ben Kalu’s opponent and Labour Candidate in the 2023 House of Representatives election for Bende Federal Constituency, Mr. Chinasa Frank Iheanyi, Liaison Officer for National Assembly.
In keeping with his promise of engaging some of the immediate past Mayors of the Local Governments, Dr. Otti appointed the former Mayor of Obingwa LGA, Dr. Eric Egwuibe as Special Adviser, Budget and Planning and made his Ikwuano LGA counterpart, Mr. Osinachi Nwaka, the Director-General of Ministry of Finance Incorporated.
Others appointed obvioulsy to strengthen the Governor’s Economic team include Mr. Emmanuel Okpechi, who is now the Special Adviser, Internally Generated Revenue; and Mr. Ndubuisi Ike, now Special Adviser, Finance & Economic Development.
In related development, Governor Otti has reassigned Mr. Chimereze Okeigbo, formerly the Special Adviser to the Governor on Internally-Generated Revenue, to become the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Abia SME Microfinance Bank while Urenna Abazie becomes the new Director-General of Abia State Orientation Agency. Also,. Mrs. Chinwe Kalu Uba has been made the Special Assistant, Industry & SMEs and Mrs. Matilda Anyamele is now Special Assistant, Arts, Culture & Creative Economy.
